Well, if you've gotten the Planet-12 mailer you know that soon, Jodi, Matt and Felix are going to end Planet 12 and start a new band called Red Dahlia. We've already written 4 new songs in a month and are taking a few of the more recent Planet 12 songs with us. We're SUPER excited to be working on new material and we think you are all going to love what we've come up with. You can catch some of our new material as we play as Planet 12 for the last time as part of a super huge show on February 6th at Little Brothers. We're on early, like 9:30, so don't be late.

Planet 12 is looking forward to playing the Lancaster Eagle-Gazette battle of the bands at the fairgrounds tomorrow. The newspaper has promoted the heck out of it. Win lose or whatever, I think I speak for the band when I say that we're just glad to play to some new people who haven't seen us in Lancaster before. This can only help us in that town, no matter what happens.
We're going to play two new songs we wrote last month. I hope all goes well. I'm a little nervous, but in a good way as it will probably make me play better. At least I hope :-)
Chris is trading some gear for a used 8x10 bass cab very similar to the one all the bands played at the Mad Lab fundraiser. It's a two man cabinet and although it will be a pain and a half to lug around, it will definitely be worth it. That cabinet sounded AWESOME. You don't just hear the bass, you feel it, even at low volume. That's nice.

Planet 12 just (like 30 minutes ago) got played on CD101 in Columbus, Ohio as part of their "Front stage" program. They play two songs from a local band every day at 9:00 PM. We've been on it before, but it is always fun when they do it. Being played on the radio will never get old :-) They pimped the heck out of the Volatility fest too. We're playing it at 6:30 PM at the Mad Lab Saturday July 12th.
Practice for the "Volatility" fundraiser at the Mad Lab is going pretty smoothly. Almost too smoothly. Must... fight off... Paranoia...
Planet 12 just got booked to a 4 new shows recently. Thus once again proving that when it rains, it pours. Check out the gig page on our web site for details. All the dates are confirmed, however since some of the gigs are "fests" bands tend to drop out and drop in, times change, etc. We'll post the details as soon as we get them!

The band is looking forward to playing the "Volatility" fundraiser at the Mad Lab on Saturday July 12th. For more info, check out the gig page. All the bands and acts on the bill are great. But I am personally looking forward to seeing our friends in The Last Hotel and the Stepford 5 for sure. Denovo is also a band I've heard a lot about, but have yet to see. They have some downloads available on their site and I for one like what they have created.
Friday the band volunteered as roadies for Comfest in Columbus for the third year in a row. Unless you've been living in a cave in Ohio someplace, you know that Comfest is a three day music and art fest run by volunteers in Columbus Ohio's Goodale park every year in the summer. Once again I had a blast working on the main stage. It's a lot of fun to see bands perform from the backstage perspective. I've always liked being part of the "behind the scene" when it comes to concerts and plays. Not everyone gets to experience an event like Comfest in this way. If the music thing fails, I could always become a roadie :-)
We hung out with members of Mad Lab and saw a lot of familiar faces from the Columbus and Athens music scenes at Comfest. Afterwards, some of us went to Skullys to watch The Tough and Lovely. Jodi and I have seen them at least 4 times in Athens. If you get the chance to see them in Columbus, please do! Columbus is their hometown and I think they are starting to finally make a name for themselves there!

This past Saturday the band went up to Chris's house to record some more demo songs at his home studio. It was Chris's birthday too! We recorded 4 new songs and re-did 3 songs that appeared on our last demo. Afterwards, we all enjoyed some grilled burgers and some beers. Band consensus is that we are all starting to get very familiar with our current crop of songs and we are all liking the new direction a lot.

2/25/03 - Keep an ear out for Planet 12. We're back with new songs and a re-arranged lineup. Jodi's powerful vocals will still lead the band and Felix is still the drummer. Only now Matt is playing bass and Chirs Bair is the primary guitarist.
We recorded a practice at Chris Bair's home studio on February 2nd and created 3 very rough, yet very exciting (for planet 12 fans) live tracks. If you want a sneak peak, let us know.
